- Refrigerator is Tripping the mains
- Test the power outlet (use a kettle see if it still trips).
- Unplug the fridge and check the power cable for damages.
- Unplug the fridge and check that power cable connections are secure on the compressor.
- Compressor is faulty and needs replacement.

- Refrigerator does not run and the light does not work and the globe is fine (Free Fix)
- Make sure the refrigerator is plugged in securely.
- Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker (basic Fridges don’t have fuses).
- Test the power outlet for current (use a kettle).
- Unplug the Fridge and Inspect the electrical cord for damage.
- Eliminate use of an extension cord, if any is being used.
- Check the outlet voltage.
- Refrigerator does not run and the light does not work and the globe is fine (Free Fix)

- Refrigerator does not run but the light works
- Check the temperature setting.
- Make certain there is a three inch space outside of the refrigerator between the walls and the back and sides and at least a one inch gap above, to allow for air flow.
- Clean the condenser coils.
- Unplug the refrigerator, wait two hours and plug it in. If you hear it running, a problem is causing the compressor to overheat (Possible Block).
- Test the temperature control.
- Test the evaporator fan if (Frost Free Fridges).
- Test the defrost timer (Frost Free Fridges).
- Test the compressor relay and Overload.

- Hissing and popping is normal on frost free refrigerators, it is the defrost heater.
- Check that the refrigerator is level.
- Check the drain pan (Its on top of the compressor at the back bottom of the fridge can rattle.
- Check the condenser fan (this is found of frost free and commercial coolers).
- Check the evaporator fan (this is normally inside the fridge panel or on-top in beverage coolers).
- Inspect the compressor mounts (rubbers can become worn and flat).
- Refrigerator is noisy or makes strange sounds

- Defrost the freezer.
- Clean the condenser coils (Black Grill behind or under nest to the compressor (Allows air flow) .
- Check the door seals there must be no open spaces.
- Clean the door seals.
- Test the door switch (Light may not be switching off when you close the door).
- If you recently adjusted the temperature control, loaded the refrigerator or are in a humid location, it is not uncommon for a refrigerator to run for 24 hours or more before getting cool.
